Januš Aleš Luznar also known as Yanoosh is an active artist since the late 1990’s, mostly at the intersection of music, audiovisual works, and interdisciplinary arts.  His music genre diversity has led to collaborations with variety of independent and avant-garde record labels in Slovenia and worldwide. Since 2023, when he started crafting acoustic string instruments such as Lyre, African ngoni, kora etc. he turned his focus to performances with his own handmade instruments that often resonate in musical scales which transcend their cultural origin. Intertwining them with manipulation of electronic sound effects, and multilayered vocal harmonies. In many cultures, traditional music, as played by European bards, West African griots, or the poet-musicians of ancient Rome, served to tell stories, preserve history, and shape collective memory. In contrast, his aim is to create a space where time loses its linear structure and sound becomes a landscape that gently leads the listener into a dreamlike, almost meditative world. His compositions are mostly improvised, often touched by a sense of experimentation. The musical elements can feel subtly psychedelic and transcendent, perhaps even healing. Not in a therapeutic sense, but as a sonic experience that releases tension, opens inner space, and speaks to the subconscious.  Though he does not recount historical tales like a bard, griot, or Roman poet, he sees his music as an offering, a personal gift through which he shares his deepest emotions, with a fictional language. He aims to convey feelings that reach beyond words, beyond space and time.
